Managed plant manufacturing engineering and new program accounts for OEM customers. Saerved as account manager for Ford Electric Vehicle group's electric powered hydraulic steering pump. Developed equipment utilization and capacity studies for manufacturing operation. Maintained floor layout requirements to support new process and capital introduction.

Led cross-functional teams toward achieving various manufacturing objectives. Supported domestic/international manufacturing activities, suppliers and customers. Met new program launch objectives at 5 plants that included new capital, tooling and gauging. Developed $30M manufacturing plan as part of a China joint venture feasibility team. Team leader of two cross-functional continuous improvement teams netting $1M savings. Designed, specified and implemented $3M of capital equipment, tooling and gauging.
Manufacturing Supervisor, Process Engineer and Quality Engineer, TRW - Steering and Suspension Systems
Performed engineering and hourly manufacturing supervision work. Supervised 30 production operators, managed production and handled union grievances. Was responsible for leadership and process improvement for powder coating department. Provided process/quality engineering support of various manufacturing and assembly departments. Served as liaison and provided manufacturing support at new Japanese manufacturing joint venture startup. Proposed new technologies through process and standard cost development programs. Was responsible for customer interface and project coordination for building Ford Alpha prototype steering gears.
Product Engineer, General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), Chassis Group
Served as lead engineer of top priority work directives involving product design for system modifications to the U.S. Army's main battle tank. Responsible for chassis and suspension component and system design, development and field-testing. Improved M1 tank's existing tread cleat design for ice traction control. Performed study to extend useful life of older equipment for US Army (tank automotive command).
