Served as project manager for the startup and commercialization of shrink sleeving operation for the production of Kraft Go-Packs. Made modifications, led a team consisting of manufacturing technicians, quality control, maintenance, internal customer R&D, outside service, and trainers to bring the machine into daily production and met customer requirements. Project engineer for installation of a Harris N900III press. Removed older press, contracted new foundation, process piping an electrical service to site, high pressure ink lines, chill water, Organized major repairs to cylinders and folder, purchased auxiliaries & repair parts, organized installation of conveyors and stackers. Designed new chill stand drive using harmonic drive differential with servo trim motor. Designed several new folder nip sections and timed perforators with on the run phasing. Retrofit angle bar decks. Designed new slitter sections. Designed stacker/bundler & conveyor modifications. Pick and place for 300 lb bundles. Stacker water spray systems for remoistenable gluing of signatures. Finishing line glue nozzles, slitters, & rotary plow folders. Compensator & tension meter rollers. Chill stand disk brake system. Provided engineering assistance for several press installations and rebuilds. Roll stand hoist modifications. Roll handling equipment installation.

Baler Room
Installation of new cyclone and baler including foundation for cyclone supports. Upgrades & balancing of pneumatic conveying system. New cart dump and shredder system.

Bindery
Designed and installed case stacker with infeed and integrated pile straightening. Binder modifications, glue system, book block feeder retrofits. Harris side stitcher to Binder retrofit with book block feeders and drive system. Custom book block shuttle feeders. Conveyor systems.

Fulfillment
Shrinkwrap installation, including refurbish, purchase and retrofit shuttle feeder, conveyors and system startup. Joa Hollowrap cartoner rebuild and retrofit shuttle feeders, carton turnover device with labeler. Designed new pneumatic shuttle feeders for Baldwin cartoner. Layout and setup 2 new Scitex ink jet lines. Purchased, installed, startup, trained operators, wrote custom database translation software for Readers Digest database, and added checksum and barcode routines. Jacketing machine modifications. Machine maintenance Assist with breakdown diagnosis and repairs. Filled in for machine maintenance supervisor on weekends per scheduled rotation among engineers. Maintained AutoCAD documentation of facilities and plant equipment layouts.
