Environmental Health and Safety Group, Engineering Consulting Firm

Was responsible for developing safety and health programs, conducting worker training, and evaluating worksite hazards. Projects included updating a comprehensive safety and health program for 12 painting firms and monitoring lead-paint removal projects. Was also responsible for broad-based consulting with clients regarding the recognition, evaluation and control of work place safety, occupational and environmental conditions which could cause injuries or illness. Oversaw projects as Project Manager and provided technical support and direction to field staff. Presented safety and industrial hygiene training in a variety of topics, including permit required confined spaces, respiratory protection, and 10-Hour and 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety courses.

Transportation Projects:
NYC Department of Transportation - Protective Coating of Various Bridges
Provided safety and industrial hygiene support for this multi-year contract involving the removal of lead-based paint and protective coating of over 15 individual bridges.

Triborough Bridge & Tunnel Authority
Provided safety and industrial hygiene support for multi-year coatings inspection project. Visited jobsite on a monthly basis to evaluate contractor safety performance relative to contract specifications, contractor’s safety program, and OSHA regulations.

Provided safety and industrial hygiene support for two-year coatings inspection project. Visited jobsite on a monthly basis to evaluate contractor safety performance relative to contract specifications, contractor’s safety program, and OSHA regulations.

Developed site-specific worker lead program and visited jobsites to evaluate compliance with program.

Industrial Hygiene Projects:
Performed air monitoring for respirable silica, sulfuric acid, and organic vapors. Facilities included battery production, specialty glass manufacturer, and a steel fabrication shop.
Performed air monitoring for oil mist and respirable silica and conducted a noise survey. Facilities included quarries and a machine shop.
Conducted area and personal monitoring for carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide.
Conducted annual laboratory safety survey and lab hood evaluation, protective personal equipment hazard evaluation, noise survey, and air monitoring for solvent vapors.
Conducted comprehensive indoor air quality survey to investigate complaints by building occupants.
