Responsible for the maintenance of excellent communications between chemistry sites and between chemists and biologists. The project succeeded in bringing a compound to clinical trials.

Upon the resignation of the Director of Medicinal Chemistry, acted as interim Director. Coordinated administrative affairs across the three Medicinal Chemistry sites until selection of the Medicinal Chemistry Director.

Led the chemistry group that developed the enabling synthesis of the antithrombotic Xemilofiban. This synthesis allowed the compound to be made in amounts suitable for clinical evaluation. The same process was then converted to an enantioselective method by Chemical Sciences and used as the manufacturing process until cancellation of the project in Phase III clinical trials.
