Consultant, environmental health, safety, and risk testing services firm
Provided client management and multidisciplinary technical consulting to large industrial, commercial and institutional clients. Major projects included the Department of Homeland Security health and safety assessment for the Transportation Security Administration at some of the country’s largest airports including JFK, LGA, EWR, ATL, MIA, ORD and LAX. This involved working with all levels of TSA personnel from new-hires to Federal Security Directors. Evaluated and ranked hazards including; ergonomic, indoor air quality, air contaminants, noise, lighting and general safety. This consultant has reviewed policies and plant procedures and has worked in the aggregates industry, participating in contractor pre-planning meetings to anticipate and identify project tasks and risk potentials. Has assisted heavy-highway contractor with development and implementation of site-specific safety program to meet New York state DT requirements, and has assisted plant safety directors with program auditing following corporate directives. Additional responsibilities have included policies and plant safety procedures including training programs, accident investigation reporting procedures, emergency response procedures, plant safety inspection program and reports.
Senior Loss Prevention Consultant and a Senior Industrial Hygienist, Liberty Mutual Insurance
Was responsible for industrial hygiene consulting to Liberty Mutual customers in Upstate New York. Performed hundreds of industrial hygiene exposure evaluations in manufacturing plants, paper mills, paper converting plants, food processing plants, laboratories, hospitals, quarries and construction sites. Guided customers to improve the quality of their industrial hygiene programs including hazard communication, hearing conservation, permit required confined space, lead in construction and silicosis prevention. Developed and delivered classroom instruction on specific industrial hygiene topics for safety consultants. Was responsible for loss prevention service to some of Liberty’s largest and most visible accounts in New England. Worked with corporate safety directors and risk managers to develop and implement corporate safety programs and guidelines for Loss Prevention service to their companies and locations nationwide. Tracked company Workers’ Compensation loss rates and other safety performance indicators, and wrote and presented annual and interim Loss Prevention progress reports for corporate safety directors.
