Has conducted numerous studies in areas including metabolism of histones in avian erythroid cells, cyclic-AMP, electroshock seizure pattern in rats, rat brain serotonin depletion, proteolysis and glutamate binding in rat brains, and hypothalamic c-AMP in vivo increase in rats.

Additional areas of interest include lysosomal enzymes transport from cell bodies to dendrites, pseudocholinesterase in the rat cerebellum, lipofuscin in aged neurons, dentate gyrus granule cells following limbic seizures, dendritic spine development in hippocampal neurons, hippocampal plasticity, extracellular regulated kinase activation, serotonin receptor mediated events, seizures and neuropeptide gene expression in the brain.

Extensive knowledge regarding light in the adult cerebral cortex, muscarinic receptors mediating depression, steroid hormone regulation of spine density in rats, transplanted CNS stem cells, splicing of alpha-actinin 1 (ACTN1) mRNA, and cytoskeleton associated gene (ARC) expression in human neuroblastoma cells.
