Familiar with common measurement techniques, knowledge of testing methods, equipment and procedures, generation of gear calculation programs, familiar with KISSsoft gear software, selection of bearing type and size based on application and life calculation, strength calculations of shafts and gears according to industry standards, premature failures of bearings and gears due to scuffing, scoring or micropitting, familiar with standards such as AGMA 2001, DIN 3990, ISO 6336, VDI 2545, good understanding of manufacturing and heat treatment processes, knowledge of the Shot Peening and REM polishing processes
