Work included directing the management of various aspects of the Ground Safety Program for military and civilian personnel. Coordinated and conducted and aggressive inspection program involving approximately 500 work areas by using all available Air Force, federal, state and local safety and health requirements. Conducted thorough mishap investigations of all Class A, B and C (also includes near miss incidents) on-duty and off-duty military, on-duty civilian, and property damage incidents. These investigations produced sound corrective actions, which resulted in an overall reduction of all incidents. Developed, implemented, and audited various health and safety management systems and regulatory compliance programs. Developed and delivered regulatory required health and safety training including: emergency preparedness and life safety, personal protective equipment, confined spaces, control of hazardous energy and hazard communication. Evaluated and redesigned the Confined Space program for the 23d AW and all tenants in order to meet all OSHA requirements. Scheduled and conducted Supervisor Safety Training and the Unit Safety Representative Training for over 300 military and civilian personnel annually. Conducted mass safety briefings to the entire base populace during annual Safety Day activities. Member of the Ergonomic Working Group and the Environmental Compliance Assessment Management Program (ECAMP) Sub-Committee (vital to the oversight of base compliance with EPA).
