Was responsible for business development of a privately owned aftermarket distribution and remanufacturing company. Expectations included securing renewal of contract with Caterpillar for fuel systems products and developing national accounts and integrating new products into the current product line. Renegotiated contract with Caterpillar one year early ($13 million). Developed six of the largest national consumers as customers. Expanded product offering by broadening product base. Managed operations of Cummins-Wartsila JV facility in Mulhouse, France. Focus was to launch a new high speed large bore diesel engine. Responsibility included converting existing manufacturing and engineering processes and methods in production, logistics, maintenance, and engineering planning organizations. Selected machine tool builder and administrated procurement and installation. Directed all component make/buy decisions. Selected facility and determined and implemented upgrades/modifications as needed. Managed new product introduction teams, master schedules & engine cost tracking process. Provided product cost analysis, capital and facility requirements and detailed program master schedule for introduction. Defined and implemented a simultaneous engineering organization to support all Cummins New Product Introduction. Identified support for engineering, plant, and supply base organizations enhancing new product introduction process, which reduced investment and shortened introduction lead-time. Defined requirements necessary to provide manufacturing expertise to the platform teams. Identified plant needs for introducing new products while maintaining current production. Provided strategies, which aligned existing assets to support new product introduction to minimize capital investment. Established process to manage and administer $650 million new capital investment. Provided NPI management to all engine programs. Conceptualized, designed and developed low cost, integrated L-10 compression brake. The design integrated all existing components and systems with minor modification to structural parts.
