Laboratory Technical Manager, a consulting engineering firm specializing in industrial protective coatings

Worked on hundreds of coating failure analysis projects in addition to conducting and supervising numerous product testing programs. Routinely provided technical support to the consulting staff as well as to all of the region and district offices. Has been a regular lecturer on the application of analytical chemistry to paint and coating failures, and also on physical testing methods.

Quality Analyst, Nabisco, Pittsburgh, PA

Responsibilities included hourly testing of all production lines to ensure product conformed to Nabisco's packaging specifications; laboratory moisture, pH, and sodium testing of all finished products; calibration of laboratory instruments; placement of all out-of-specification product on hold, notifying the distribution center as well as all supervisors; rechecking all held product and recording results to ensure proper disposition; data entry using AS400 software; interfacing with union personnel to resolve conflicts with laboratory equipment usage in the bakery; and training of new laboratory personnel.

Responsibilities included routinely checking production lines to ensure products adhered to company standards, swabbing production machines to ensure proper sanitation; performing all applicable microbiological tests on finished products as well as incoming ingredients; implementing a statistical process control program to help improve production efficiency; overseeing mixing personnel and batch processing; conducting plant inspections; revising and updating all production line check-sheets; and handling customer correspondence.
