Electrical Engineer, Motor Drive Design Engineer Consultant Jobs

We are currently accepting applications / resumes from candidates with expertise in the following area. We offer positions both as Lead Consultants and as KKAI Consultants.

Electrical Engineer, Motor Drive Design Engineer

KKAI is seeking candidates with specialization in high power motor drive design and inverter design (from below 1KW to 1MW), control systems, and switching power supply design, electronic design, product qualification, and engineering team management.

Ideal candidates will also possess background and experience in control board upgrade manufacturing, motor drive design performance improvement, power device testing, next generation AC products, and product reliability.

Additional experience and specialization of benefit would include SMPS design, IGBT and other power device selection and evaluation, qualification testing of power circuitry and protection systems, and power PCB design, IGBT based drives for brushless DC motors, engineering of motor drive design subsystems, engineering of power components for the inverter stage, capacitor banks, and control electronics, gate driver circuit development, protective hardware systems using analog and logic components, fault detection and diagnostics, ISO9000 certification, and design of the power and interface board containing control interface electronics, writing product specifications, operation manuals, production documents, qualification tests, and other documentation. Worked closely with the UL, NEMA, CSA, and IEC standards to develop the product. Wrote and performed qualification tests for the product in the areas of EMI radiation, voltage isolation, environmental, thermal, application specific, and user abuse endurance. Specialist in power supply design (both linear and switching), studied the basic PWM switching supply designs as well as resonant topologies, and built flyback and buck type switching supplies. Excellent magnetics design background. Expert in power electronic device theory and designs, including IGBT, BJT, MOSFET, SCR, MCT, GTO, and Schottky technologies
