ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE

Directed the design and implementation of enterprise-wide performance improvement programs in numerous manufacturing industries, including industrial OEM, consumer products, automotive, packaging and food. The overall objectives of these engagements were to create significant performance improvements with the development of a supply chain strategy, designing and implementing end-to-end business processes, integrating suppliers with customers, moving to pull-based replenishment to reduce the total cost structure, increase asset performance, customer service and cycle time. Enterprise-wide improvements have focused on the end-to-end business processes beginning with new product development through delivery of the product to the customer. Improvements include reductions in cycle times ranging from 70% to 90”%, cost structure improvements ranging from 20% to 65%, quality improvements from 30% to 70% and customer service improvement from 10% to 20%, while reducing inventory by over 60%.

Directed enterprise-wide assessments of major business entities for key client executives to define opportunities to create competitive advantages and improve shareholder value. The scope of assessments required analyses of the enterprise end-to-end and resulted in the design and implementation of major improvements to improve service to customers, reduce the total landed cost structure and improve working capital. Organizations were realigned, business processes were redesigned, management reporting systems and performance measurements were implemented and major improvements in cost structures and asset productivity were achieved.

Managed and directed acquisition reviews and performed business valuations of acquisitions, divestitures and business litigation. Performed loss-of-profit studies and cost-of-interruption analyses for insurers. Prepared and presented testimony in litigation for loss of profits, interruption costs, business valuations, purchasing, price comparisons and cost effective operations.

Designed and implemented key performance metrics, operations control systems and costing systems for supply chain performance, labor, material, production, inventory, support and service groups in manufacturing operations and service industries. In addition, installed MRP and determined manufacturing requirements for integration of manufacturing information systems and progression to computer-integrated manufacturing.

Directed and managed major workout/turnarounds for financially troubled companies to improve profitability, reduce operating costs, realign the organization structure, install effective management controls, reduce inventory and increase production throughput to improve cash flow. In several instances, have had operating responsibility of the companies. For one client, production throughput and cash flow were increased 300% with $21 million in annual savings provided from cost improvements in a manufacturer or machine tools. In others, the businesses were stabilized or structured for sale.

Performed and managed product and facility rationalization programs, planning and layout projects including determining facility size and requirements, site search and selection, start-up and implementation of operating and management systems, project budget development and feasibility analyses. In addition, determined distribution and warehouse requirements, as well as material handling, storage, retrieval and product deployment requirements. Directed the assessment and development of a distribution network for supply chain distribution and synchronization for several major consumer products companies. Directed numerous distribution management analyses, network studies and designs and implementations for “pull” system distribution logic.
