Major projects included providing comprehensive health and safety services for major corporate research and development facility, with a major part of the work associated with OSHA VPP program maintenance. Provided various EHS services for research facility in Corning, NY. Activities included OSHA VPP support, identification and prioritization of exposure groups, job safety analyses, industrial hygiene surveys, indoor air quality assessments, and microbial contamination identification and control. Maintained solvent recovery monitoring equipment, and conducted tests to evaluate worker exposures to methylene chloride. Conducted plant-wide industrial hygiene assessments for a Syracuse compressor manufacturer and a local air-conditioning manufacturer. Managed the cleanup of a glass manufacturer’s facility contaminated with cadmium, lead, and arsenic. Conducted an indoor air quality study for a local school and designed and implemented a plan to remediate amplified levels of bacteria and fungi found in the school. Assisted a Canadian firm and state regulators in the transport and storage of radioactive materials associated with explosion and drug detection equipment. Managed an $800,000 hazardous materials survey and risk assessment for the U.S. Air Force in England, Germany, Italy, and Turkey, and a similar project at Yokota Air Base, Japan. Designed and monitored the removal of lead-based paint from a 250-foot tall radio tower located in a residential neighborhood and adjacent to a local waterway, requiring close coordination with state regulators. Conducted an industrial hygiene assessment for a New York State electric utility to assess worker exposures to contaminants and noise during arc gouging operations. Provided awareness training for 130 employees at a metals processing plant as required by the OSHA Lead in Construction Standard, 29 CFR 1926.62. Identified the source of clean room contamination that was leading to the failure of circuit boards used by a computer equipment manufacturer.
