Product development management and technical assurance consulting resource for the life science, pharmaceutical and medical devices companies. Provided analysis and detail plan to repair instrument project development programs, ensuring accuracy from prototype to end-result.

Transferred technology and release of the first automated Electrophysiology product to manufacturing under ISO 9000. Developed and led programs and projects for high throughput image detectors, and high efficiency special consumables. Coordinated the design review, reliability and life testing of old and new products.

Served a principal mechanical engineer on an automated micro-vial sampler for Gas Chromatography (GC) instrument. Developed a novel micro machined electronics MEMS gas flow controller to replace manual pneumatic flow controllers. Designed and tested new designs for lower cost high temperature injector systems, and analyzed the new generation of high temperature ovens. Applied a new accelerated development process in the design, development and testing of these projects.

Product Engineer, Beckman Instruments, Palo Alto

Served as mechanical engineer for a new DNA synthesizer, and a Vapor Phase Protein Sequencer with a micro-autosampler. Included fluid dispensing, valves and system layout designs. Redesigned the Photometric reader, micro dispense tool, and developed several consumables for Beckman Instrument first Laboratory robot. Responsible for the successful transfer to manufacturing of a High Performance Liquid Chromatography system. Executed a cost reduction program of more than $750K of documented savings through new designs, second sources, and innovative assembly methods.
