Electrical Injury in a Substation
A construction electrician was severely injured during the start up phase of a new electrical generating station in New York State. This consultant was retained as an expert for the plaintiff injured worker. He had come in contact with 4160 volts while cleaning a compartment of switchgear. He had done this because he had entered the wrong and energized compartment to do his assigned job. Through analysis of the injured worker's experience and training, along with analysis of the supervision he had received, this consultant proved that the man had been put into a situation for which he had neither prior training nor experience for the task to which he was assigned.
