Test Coverage Metrics used the following four types of metrics:
(1) Test Success Metric
This process defines Reliability as ratiof the number of successful test cases executed and the total amount of test cases executed during acceptance testing. This is done for late stages of testing, immediately prior tdelivery.
(2) IEEE Test Coverage Metric
This test metric defines reliability as the product of the Test Success
Metric and the ratio of the number of successful functions tested
(3) Leone's Test Coverage Metric
Reliability is defined as
(a)Test Success Metric or
(b) Ratiof successful tunsuccessful functions
(4) Tagging Metric
Faults injected intthe S/W system
Capability to detect faults measured
Software Failure Results used three primary methods of analysis:
I. Critical – Unrecoverable; Stops execution
II. Serious – Substantial performance degradation
III. Moderate – Execution produces errors
IV. Cosmetic – Errors tolerable
